How long are files kept?

FixAudio is not a storage service. Anonymous previews are deleted after ~15 minutes; files in your account are kept for ~24 hours. Download your masters promptly!

How do credits work?

1 credit = 1 second of audio. Minimum charge is 10 credits per file. Preview mode is always free. Production mode (clean, downloadable output) uses credits. Every new account starts with 500 free welcome credits (the same size as a Starter Pack) — enough for about 8 minutes of finished audio.

What are the 500 free welcome credits?

Every new account automatically receives 500 credits — the same amount as the $6.99 Starter Pack, on us. That covers about 8 minutes of finished audio: one typical file mastered in full, or several short ones, with no card required. While you have a credit balance you are also treated like a paying customer for upload limits (larger files) and processing priority. The credits are valid for 2 years, and each master you generate with them opens its normal batch of free regenerations, so you can tune the result without spending more.

Do unused credits expire?

Subscription credits roll over monthly, capped at 3x your monthly allocation. Purchased credit packs expire 2 years from purchase date.

Can I get a refund?

Subscriptions: Cancel anytime, access until period ends, no partial refunds. Credit packs: Full refund within 7 days if completely unused. Lifetime plans: Refundable within 14 days.

What happens if I cancel my subscription?

You keep access until the end of your billing period. Unused subscription credits are forfeited upon cancellation. Purchased credit packs remain valid.

What is the difference between Preview and Production?

Preview is free but limited to 30 seconds, marked with the FixMark, and streaming-only. Production gives you the full, clean file for download and uses credits based on duration.

What is the FixMark? Does the watermark damage my audio?

Accepted Answer

The FixMark is a short spoken tag we place a few times into free previews, plus an inaudible marker. It does not damage or alter your underlying audio in any way, and full masters never contain it. It exists so the free tier cannot simply replace the paid product. Your original upload is never modified at all.

Why is there a FixMark (watermark) on my preview?

The preview watermark (a short spoken tag) helps prevent misuse while letting you evaluate the processing quality before committing credits. The audio briefly dips under each tag so it stays audible — full masters never contain any of this.

My file failed to process. What happened?

Accepted Answer

Common causes: corrupted file, unsupported codec, or file too short. Try re-uploading or converting to WAV/MP3 first. If issues persist, contact support.

What LUFS target do you use?

Accepted Answer

We master to -14 LUFS (integrated), which is the standard for Spotify, YouTube, and most streaming platforms. This ensures consistent playback without platform re-normalization.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings → scroll to "Delete Account" and follow the instructions, or email support@fixaudio.io. Personal data is deleted immediately; anonymized payment records are kept for 7 years for tax compliance.

Can I change my email address?

Currently, email changes must be done through Clerk (our authentication provider). Go to your profile settings and update your email there.
